I’ve known Jerry for, how long, ten years maybe? A long time. I remember going on tour with him and Tyrone Olson back in the day. We both found T-bone so intolerably annoying that Jerry and I became instant BFFs. We were also both into shooting photos–he was working on his book Demo Chix and I was really into shooting the elusive T-Bone tre-flip. In any case, we’ve been bros ever since (we have matching tattoos to prove it!). For this episode Jerry gave me a six-hour VHS tape of really incriminating material from when he first started skating. Stuff like self-cheering, self-filming, sketchy mongo-ish pushing, weird trick selection, weird outfits, chain wallets, etc.–all stuff that people on the Slap message boards will basically crucify you for. I thought “There is no way Jerry is going to let me put this out.” So I sent him a quicktime of the show, just to see if it would even fly at all, and he was like, “Who cares, I don’t care what anyone thinks, I was just a kid.” I thought that was pretty zen of him. Anyway…. Not to get all momish, but look how much this bud has blossomed and grown. Julius Caesar described these tattoos in Book V of his Gallic Wars 54 BCE
